Position SummaryThe Physical Therapist Assistant is a vital member of our rehabilitation team, responsible for providing various physical therapeutic treatments to patients with injuries or disabilities.
Under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant will work closely with patients and their families to develop and implement personalized treatment plans.
Essential Functions- Interact with patients and families to educate them on the use of equipment, home exercises, and other techniques to promote patient care and independence.
- Administer treatment programs to assigned patients, including modality treatments, therapeutic exercises, hydrotherapy, gait training, and wound dressing, in accordance with the plan of care established by the Physical Therapist.
- Record patient progress and reactions to treatment in the patient's medical record, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Instruct and provide technical direction to Physical Therapy Assistant students, technicians, and attendants in performing patient care activities.
- Counsel and teach patients and their families on the use of assistive devices and exercise techniques to promote patient care and independence.
- Two (2) years of experience working as a PTA is preferred.
- Associates Degree from a Physical Therapy Assistant program is required.
- Currently licensed in the state of employment as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Current State of Tennessee Driver's license.
- Current Auto liability Insurance according to Company Policy.
- Position may require unscheduled overtime, weekend work.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours.
- Travel required.
- Must have reliable transportation.
The job will require frequent lifting of objects up to 40 pounds.
