The IT Systems Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functionality of the IT Infrastructure at Porton Pharma Solutions Ltd. Acting as the main contact for IT Infrastructure Services, this position supervises the IT Service Desk and manages a variety of system and network administration responsibilities. The role encompasses support for diverse technologies, application assistance, and involvement in project initiatives as necessary. Reporting to the IT Department Manager, the Systems Administrator is tasked with maintaining the functionality, stability, security, and scalability of the organization’s IT Infrastructure. Effective collaboration with stakeholders and staff is essential to align IT activities and projects with the strategic goals of the organization, providing timely technical support and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure the upkeep of internal systems, including hardware such as computers, network devices, servers, and peripherals, alongside software updates and network segments.

Documentation Management: Oversee maintenance contracts and produce various documentation, including system guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and policies.

System Administration: Execute system administrator duties, manage user/group settings, and conduct monitoring utilizing Microsoft toolsets.

Audits and Compliance: Carry out regular audits, investigations, and verification of backups.

Technical Support: Provide both on-site and remote assistance to internal staff for hardware, software, and technical challenges.

Vendor Coordination: Serve as a liaison for stakeholders and third-party IT service providers regarding support and installations.

Training and Development: Facilitate training sessions for employees and develop related documentation.

Project Execution: Manage project work, oversee contractors, and engage in IT strategic initiatives.

Vendor Management: Cultivate vendor relationships, monitor licensing, and assist in the selection of new hardware and software solutions.

Best Practices Implementation: Uphold industry best practices for infrastructure reliability and sustainability.

Automation Initiatives: Investigate and apply automated methods for system administration tasks.

System Availability Assurance: Guarantee high availability of systems and infrastructure through monitoring and addressing potential issues.

Server Architecture Participation: Contribute to the design of server architecture to support IT systems.

Technical Guidance: Offer technical advice and operational instructions to system users.

  • Perform additional relevant tasks as assigned by superiors.

Qualifications

Associate degree with 2 or more years of IT-related experience or a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience in the Pharmaceutical, Life-Science, or CDMO/CRO sectors is advantageous.

Familiarity with pharmaceutical laboratory software such as ERP, LIMS, QMS, and experience with Agilent, Waters, ThermoFisher, and other laboratory software applications is beneficial.

Knowledge of GxP (Good Practice) guidelines and regulatory certifications is a plus.

Understanding of FDA regulations, including 21 CFR Part 11, and other relevant regulatory bodies in the clinical research and development domain is advantageous.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, investigative, organizational, and project management skills.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in business terms across all organizational levels.
