Psychiatric Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Practitioner to join our team at E-talentnetwork. As a Psychiatric Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care to adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatient populations.
Responsibilities:- Examine, evaluate, diagnose, and treat medical illnesses for adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatient populations.
- Serve as a medical consultant to attending psychiatrists/practitioners.
- Complete admission medical assessments, including history and physical examinations, mental status examinations, and entering admission orders.
- Order diagnostic/therapeutic tests and procedures.
- Monitor patients' progress, including laboratory values and special procedures, with appropriate follow-up or referrals as needed.
- Consult with authorized representatives/legal guardians on patient medical status.
- Collaborate with attending psychiatric practitioners to provide DSM-5 diagnoses that are valid, complete, and supported by timely and appropriate assessments.
- Provide coverage to the medical clinic and admission suite to ensure the admission process is completed.
- Prescribe medications at the lowest effective dose in accordance with rational clinical practices, assess and address medication side effects, and report adverse drug reactions.
- Ensure timely and quality documentation in patient records in accordance with policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and guidelines.
- 3+ years of experience as a Physician/Practitioner.
- Strong experience working with patients having Serious Mental Illness (SMI).
- Psychiatric Crisis Management and Forensic experience are a plus.
- Experience working with adult admissions or geriatric admissions and acute and chronic health management of adult and geriatric populations.
- Comfortable working on admissions workups and potential rapid turnover.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
- Facility Hospitalizations: Acute, Adult, Inpatient wards (male & female).
- Facility Demographics: Forensic, NGRI, Civil, Jail Transfer, and Geriatric populations.
- Facility Stay: Short and Long-term length of stay.
