Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with merchandise location and sales.
  • Generate sales by using the S.A.L.E.S. process to help customers find products and promoting sales within specified guidelines.
  • Complete all company and departmental paperwork accurately, including price change bulletins, operation actions, red tags, and bin tags.
  • Receive, open, and unpack merchandise, checking paperwork against items received and replenishing stock as needed.
  • Display and maintain merchandise on end caps, shelves, counters, or tables, following company plan-ogram and building displays to attract customers and promote sales.
  • Maintain on-hand integrity through inventory adjustment reports, including cycle count and negative on-hand.
  • Follow the nightly maintenance checklist to ensure proper store recovery and cleanliness.
  • Maintain familiarity with new products and ad merchandise.
  • Practice loss prevention techniques to minimize shoplifting losses.
  • Work effectively with colleagues and customers, communicating effectively and professionally.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively with customers or associates.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Working Conditions

The work environment is a fast-paced retail setting with moderate noise levels. The associate may work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The physical demands of the job include walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, talking, and hearing. The employee frequently climbs ladders and stands and reaches with hands and arms. The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance.

Compensation

$12.50 per hour.
