Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Magnet Medical is seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team in Burlington, Iowa. As a travel healthcare professional, you will have the opportunity to work with our team of experienced nuclear medicine physicians and radiologists.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to operate advanced imaging equipment such as gamma cameras, PET scanners, and SPECT scanners. You will be responsible for administering radioactive substances to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, your duties will include:
- Operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment, adjusting settings to obtain clear and accurate diagnostic images
- Administering radioactive substances to patients, monitoring them during the administration process and checking for any immediate adverse reactions or complications
- Ensuring proper disposal of radioactive materials in accordance with safety protocols
- Explaining imaging procedures to patients, alleviating concerns and ensuring they understand the process, risks, and benefits
- Verifying patient identity and medical history to ensure appropriate radiopharmaceutical use and test procedures
In addition to the duties mentioned above, you will also be responsible for:
- Reviewing images to ensure diagnostic quality, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for each test performed
- Assisting physicians and radiologists by providing preliminary image analysis, noting any abnormalities or relevant findings
- Maintaining accurate patient records, including patient history, test results, and imaging reports, in compliance with hospital or facility protocols
- Performing routine maintenance and calibration of nuclear medicine imaging equipment, ensuring proper function and safety
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to imaging equipment or radiopharmaceuticals

Compensation and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per year, based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week. The pay package includes a tax-free stipend amount, which will be determined upon confirmation.
