Oaks Senior Living, LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced cook to join our team at our Oaks at Ellijay Community in Ellijay, GA. Our organization is committed to providing a Person-Centered Lifestyle, with a focus on enriching the lives of our residents.

Job Summary:

The Cook will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving, and handling in accordance with federal and state regulations. This role will also involve maintaining a clean and sanitized dining service area and assisting with the receiving, rotation, and storage of products.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with cooking and serving food in accordance with nutritional guidelines and resident preferences.
  2. Deliver quality meals, snacks, and special diets as directed by the Food Service Director.
  3. Presentation of food in an appetizing and attractive manner.
  4. Foster residents' independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment.
  5. Ensure timely delivery of food and snacks.
  6. Prepare food for special events as requested.
  7. Notify the Food Service Director of any kitchen equipment malfunctions.
  8. Wash dishes according to the cleaning schedule.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in cooking for large groups.
  2. Desire to work with older adults.
  3. Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  4. Friendly, caring disposition.
  5. Must be 18 years of age.
  6. Must have a satisfactory criminal history check.
  7. Must have a physical exam by a licensed physician.
  8. Must have a negative drug screen.
  9. Must be able to react in an emergency situation.
