For more than 100 years, The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers programs have offered spiritual, emotional, and social assistance to those who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. Our no-cost programs provide housing, food, counseling, community, and employment as we work to treat the symptoms, and ultimately the root causes, of prolonged alcohol and drug dependence.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our Production Team at The Salvation Army's Canoga Park Distribution Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate sorting, processing, and distribution of merchandise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sorting and Processing: Sort product efficiently and properly according to The Salvation Army's standard of policy.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect products for defects and damages to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Product Identification: Identify product correctly and direct it to the proper department for processing.
  • Inventory Management: Collect merchandise from the distribution center and safely transport materials.
  • Safety and Security: Follow safety measures established and maintained by The Salvation Army's policy and government regulations.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality as needed and required for the operation of the total program.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Criminal Background Check: Must pass a background check, which will include a Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry check.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
Physical Demands
  • Physical Ability: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
  • Weight Capacity: Ability to move product up to 75lbs.
  • Repetitive Motion: Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
Work Schedule

Our Distribution Center operates 5 days per week, mostly Monday through Friday, day shift. Warehouse Associates may be scheduled to work weekends and holidays.
