POSITION SUMMARY

The Spares Clerk is responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution of hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies, and equipment, including measuring devices, within an industrial setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage special tool control, requisition processing, and calibration of assigned equipment to support the designated program.
  • Maintain accurate records of tools issued to and returned by personnel.
  • Conduct analysis and research to inform critical business decisions.
  • Execute searches for lost or misplaced tools.
  • Prepare periodic inventory reports and maintain perpetual inventory, ordering stock as necessary.
  • Unpack and properly store new equipment.
  • Perform visual inspections of tools or utilize micrometers to check for wear or defects, reporting any damaged or worn-out equipment to supervisors.
  • Provide updates on work order statuses.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, regulations, and company policies in all tasks.
  • Guarantee that all tools and related equipment are fully accounted for.
  • Establish and uphold a special tool calibration program.
  • Respond promptly to work orders, emphasizing operational support and assisting as needed to meet customer and mission requirements.
  • Adhere to HAZMAT policies and regulations.
  • Develop discrepancy trend charts/graphs as necessary to illustrate quality performance.
  • May apply protective coatings to tools using brushes or spray guns.
  • May affix identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tools.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
