Overview

This role is classified as a 1099/Independent Contractor position.

The Physician will deliver personal services as a Fee Basis Provider (FBP), responsible for conducting medical histories, performing physical assessments, and reviewing necessary medical documentation related to consultations and medical histories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting medical histories and physical assessments; reviewing required medical documentation and tests pertinent to consultations and medical histories; evaluating applicant medical records and providing medical opinions on applicants' qualifications for various programs.
  • The Physician will not possess the authority to oversee or provide administrative guidance to facility personnel.
  • Physical examinations will be conducted without offering any advice to applicants regarding available programs or scholarships.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current, unrestricted MD/DO license from any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands, and be privileged by the USMEPCOM Command Surgeon. The license must be valid, unencumbered, and not subject to any restrictions.
  • Completion of a residency or provision of direct patient care within the last three years is required.
  • A minimum of one year of post-graduate training must be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
  • Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Certification from the American Heart Association, including hands-on skills training.
  • Medical education must be accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA).
  • Completion of an ACGME or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency and/or provision of direct patient care as an independent practitioner within the last three years is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • The FBP must have the necessary computer skills to access and update electronic medical documentation, respond to email communications, and utilize internet resources to gather information on medical issues or obtain information from organizations involved in military personnel access.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear. Frequent walking, use of hands for handling or feeling, and reaching with hands and arms is necessary. Occasional standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.

This position is classified as 1099 and does not qualify for employee benefits.

Estimated Compensation

Up to USD $90.00 per hour.
