Medical Professional Wanted for Cardiovascular Care

Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled medical professional to join their team as a travel nurse in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
Job Description:This 13-week contract offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic Echo Lab environment, providing exceptional care to patients undergoing echocardiograms and other cardiovascular diagnostic procedures.
- Patient Preparation:
- Prepare patients for echocardiogram procedures by explaining the process, addressing concerns, and ensuring understanding of what to expect.
- Assess patient health status, including reviewing medical history, current medications, allergies, and cardiovascular conditions.
- Ensure patients are appropriately positioned and comfortable during the procedure.
- Assist patients in changing into appropriate attire or providing other necessary pre-procedure preparations.
- Assisting During Echo Procedures:
- Assist echocardiography technicians and cardiologists during the performance of the echocardiogram by preparing equipment, ensuring the room is set up, and providing patient support.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and respiratory rate, during the procedure to ensure patient stability.
- Administer medications or sedatives as ordered by the physician to facilitate the procedure or manage patient anxiety or discomfort.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during the procedure to reduce anxiety and ensure a positive experience.
- Post-Procedure Care:
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or complications following the echocardiogram.
- Provide instructions to patients on how to care for themselves after the procedure, including activity restrictions or follow-up care.
- Communicate any immediate concerns, abnormalities, or post-procedure complications to the attending physician or cardiologist.
- Assist in the completion of necessary documentation and ensure follow-up care instructions are given to the patient.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in cardiovascular nursing and excellent communication skills. You should also be able to work well under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in high-stress situations.
