Job Summary

Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a key member of our dialysis healthcare team, you will provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, provide emotional support, and ensure their overall well-being.
  • Treatment Setup: Prepare and operate hemodialysis machines, ensuring accurate settings and proper function.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction surveys and process improvement initiatives.
  • Communication: Collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
  • Documentation: Accurately record patient information, treatment data, and other relevant details in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in dialysis technology or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent standing, prolonged periods of walking, and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. The work environment is characteristic of a healthcare facility with moderate noise levels and exposure to infectious diseases.
