Job OverviewThe College Access Alumni Advisor will play a critical role in supporting KIPP Chicago alumni as they navigate the college application and financial aid process. This position requires a seasoned professional with experience in student advising, academic advising, or college counseling.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 230-250 students per year, providing individualized support to ensure timely submission of applications and financial aid. They will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to leverage resources and opportunities for KIPP alumni.
Key Responsibilities- Caseload Management: Develop and maintain relationships with students and families to ensure timely submission of applications and financial aid.
- Student Advising: Provide personalized guidance and support to students on their academic, social-emotional, and financial challenges.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with high schools, colleges, and scholarship organizations to secure resources and opportunities for KIPP alumni.
- College Access: Support students through the college application and financial aid process, ensuring they are aware of and prepared for available options.
- Bachelor's degree or higher required.
- Demonstrated success working with historically underrepresented communities in higher education and commitment to KIPP Chicago's mission.
- At least two years of experience managing large caseloads (>150) in student advising, academic advising, or college counseling.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, evidence of strong follow-through, initiative taking, and interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of meeting/exceeding goals and ability to work under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Competitive salary ($60,000 - $80,000 annually)
