SENIOR APPLICATION SYSTEMS MANAGER
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Senior Application Systems Manager will oversee multiple applications and their corresponding technical frameworks. A profound understanding of applications and environments is essential, along with the capability to guide technical teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Implementation and Support**: Facilitate the deployment of new software versions and system updates across development, QA, production, and disaster recovery environments.
2. **Technical Assistance**: Provide expert technical support to various projects.
3. **Incident and Problem Management**: Engage in incident management and conduct thorough post-incident analyses.
4. **Research and Technology Implementation**: Investigate and adopt new technologies to meet project and support requirements.
5. **Workflow and Job Scheduler Management**: Establish and maintain workflow and job scheduling software.
6. **Interface and API Administration**: Set up and manage interfaces and APIs effectively.
7. **Middleware Configuration**: Administer and support middleware solutions.
8. **Application Environment Management**: Oversee the setup, administration, and support of application environments.
9. **SLA Management**: Monitor and report on service level agreements for applications.
10. **Application Support**: Manage application issues, support requests, and escalation processes.
11. **Vendor and User Liaison**: Act as a liaison between vendors, technology and infrastructure teams, and business users.
12. **Disaster Recovery Planning**: Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing, ensuring knowledge of setup, maintenance, and cutover processes.
13. **Specialist Knowledge**: Utilize specialized knowledge in one or more applications and their supporting environments.
14. **Technology Lifecycle Management**: Assist in the Technology Lifecycle Management Program for effective technology asset management.
15. **Team Leadership**: Lead small technical teams in executing the above tasks and provide mentorship to junior staff.
Qualifications
- **Education**: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 10 years in IT, with at least 7 years in Application Administration and 3 years in resource coordination.
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Project, and SharePoint, with extensive knowledge of databases, hardware support, and cloud deployment.
- Expert in Windows and/or Linux/UNIX server operating systems.
- Familiarity with scripting and automation.
- Proficient in SQL and/or Oracle databases, with the ability to write SQL queries.
- Preferred experience with middleware technologies (e.g., WebSphere, WebLogic, MQ) and interface/API management.
Compensation
Starting base salary:
$111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
