Job Summary

The Shelby County Systems Administrator DevOps (SA-I-DO) plays a crucial role in developing and supporting fully automated CI/CD processes for infrastructure provisioning, application, and service deployments. This position involves working under the direct supervision of a Systems Administrator II and III to build, configure, and maintain systems, including software installations and updates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops CI/CD pipelines across various architectures to ensure code quality and efficient releases.
  • Collaborates with a team of product developers and Cloud Engineers on multiple client projects simultaneously.
  • Develops, tests, and debugs new modules and enhancements for all applications.
  • Contributes to an agile project team to understand and document client requirements, estimate work, develop new solutions, and enhance existing solutions.
  • Conducts code reviews and facilitates peer code reviews to enhance quality.
  • Works closely with the team to create and maintain an automated CI/CD software pipeline.
  • Builds and maintains end-to-end deployment automation for the entire product suite.
  • Promotes and collaborates on development and coding best practices.
  • Researches new technologies and creates software architecture strategies to meet defined business objectives, including minimizing cloud infrastructure cost.
Requirements
  • Three (3) years of experience as a system administrator.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology, or a closely related field.
  • Equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
  • Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required.
Special Requirements
  • Must pass Local and National NCIC Criminal Investigative Reports.
  • Must be on-call as required.
