We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Internal Medicine Physician to join our faculty team at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Warren Campus. As a faculty member, you will play a vital role in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, while also providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians.
- Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses.
- Participate in academic programs, such as medical education and research, as requested.
- Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on-call schedules.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program required.
- Requires ABMS or AOA Internal Medicine board certification or board eligible with certification after start date.
- Interest in teaching.
- Special interest in medical education, health services, research, patient safety and quality improvement is highly desirable.
