As a Critical Care CVICU Nurse, you will be responsible for monitoring and caring for patients who are critically ill and unstable due to severe injuries, surgical procedures, or life-threatening conditions.
Your shift will commence with a detailed report from a fellow nursing professional, followed by comprehensive patient rounds. You will provide ongoing care and execute procedures as outlined in the care plan. CVICU Nurses are essential in delivering specialized care to patients facing severe cardiac issues, particularly those recovering from cardiac surgeries.
Success in this role hinges on your ability to multitask and respond swiftly. You will be dedicated to the clinical care of your patients, maintaining focus and vigilance as you continuously monitor their conditions throughout your shift. Additionally, you will act as an advocate for your patients, ensuring their best interests are prioritized, especially when they are unable to communicate their needs. Your sound judgment in emergencies and rapid response capabilities will position you for potential career advancement.

Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, plan, and implement nursing care while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Anticipate and address the informational and emotional needs of patients and their families.
- Supervise and guide healthcare staff in providing patient care.
- Maintain proficiency in the setup, maintenance, and operation of medical equipment (e.g., IV pumps, monitoring devices).
- Initiate emergency support measures as necessary (e.g., CPR, safeguarding patients from harm).
- Assist with various patient care tasks (e.g., managing drainage devices, mobility assistance, hygiene care).
Incentives: We offer a sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 for eligible hires, along with additional compensation for participation in our clinical ladder, referral bonuses, comprehensive benefits, tuition reimbursement, and relocation assistance.
Qualifications- Registered Nurse license in good standing, with a valid license in the State of Arkansas or a compact state required prior to the start date.
- A minimum of 6 months of acute care experience is required (new graduates or nurses without acute care experience may enter through our residency training program).
- Prior experience in CVICU is strongly preferred.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is also required.
