Banquet Supervisor

The Banquet Supervisor is a key member of the Oak View Group team, responsible for overseeing the execution of banquets and events. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Event Execution: Ensure that all aspects of banquets and events are executed to the highest standard, including set-up, food presentation, serving, and cleanup.
- Team Management: Supervise and train a team of banquet staff to ensure that they are equipped to provide exceptional service to guests.
- Communication: Maintain constant communication with guests, on-site contacts, and other departments to ensure that all expectations are met or exceeded.
- Problem-Solving: Respond promptly and effectively to any complaints or issues that may arise during events.
- Inventory Management: Work with the Executive Chef to ensure that inventories are stocked and that food and beverage items are available for events.
- Quality Control: Inspect table settings, buffet tables, and other food service areas to ensure that they are clean, well-organized, and meet the highest standards of quality.
- Staff Development: Assist with staff training programs and conduct regular staff meetings to build rapport and ensure that colleagues are well-informed.
- Technology: Familiarize yourself with the company's computer systems and technology, including Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.
- Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or one to two years of related experience and/or training.
- Certifications: Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification, and valid Managers ServSafe Certification.
- Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and basic computer proficiency.
- Experience: Previous supervisory experience in a food and beverage or hospitality setting, and knowledge of food and beverage operation and preparation.
This role requires the ability to work a variable schedule, including evenings and weekends, as required by the business. The successful candidate will be able to lift 25 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
