Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Unit Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Wellstone Inc. As a key member of our pediatric unit, you will provide high-quality care to individuals ages 12-18 who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct vital signs, including orthostatic blood pressure, weight, height, and pulse rate information on all patients in care.
  • Participate in treatment planning and prepare discharge planning.
  • Provide basic living skills and obtain information from clients regarding their physical status.
  • Assess medication side effects and/or adverse reactions as part of medication mentoring.
  • Perform crisis intervention techniques as needed.
  • Administer injections and document in clients' electronic medical records on a regular basis.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations when administering I.M. medications.
  • Interface with local laboratories to obtain test results.
  • Answer telephones and maintain licensure in the State of Alabama.
  • Complete and maintain documentation in a timely manner.
  • Attend staff meetings and maintain a safe environment and promote quality care through adherence to established standards of care and facility policies, procedures, and protocols.
Requirements
  • Valid Alabama State License-Current
  • Prefer Two Years Nursing Experience
  • Excellent Oral/Written Communication
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
