Lead Infant Teacher

At The Learning Gate, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Infant Teacher to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the Waddler Classroom, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate activity plans, reflecting consideration for individual children's needs, interests, and abilities.
- Document attendance, accident reports, medication waivers, and daily care sheets for each child, in compliance with The Learning Gate and licensing regulations.
- Treat all children with dignity and respect, recognizing their unique qualities, gifts, and needs.
- Interact with children on their eye level, using calm, natural, and respectful tones of voice.
- Assist the Site Director in explaining the classroom program to visitors and ensuring a smooth coordination of all classroom activities.
- Attend all staff meetings and conferences of professional organizations appropriate for Early Childhood educators.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with toileting, feeding, cleaning, and personal hygiene assistance.
- Push a buggy, lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stoop, sit on child-sized chairs, change diapers, toileting children, climb, reach, carry, or hold children up to 50 lbs.
- Visually supervise children and staff, communicate verbally and in writing, and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Requirements:
- Professionally prepared as an experienced teacher of young children, especially in the field of early childhood education.
- Meet the requirements of the Office of Licensing for the state of New Jersey.
- Sensitive and mature, with the ability to relate well to both children and adults.
- Have the personality, patience, creativity, and ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity.
- Evidence of training in First Aid and Infant-Child CPR (or willingness to be trained).
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
