Job Description

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Associate to join our team at the Southgate Plaza location in Fort Wayne, IN.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Production Associate to process donated goods in the back room of our store or in the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort, Tag, and Price Merchandise: Sort, tag, and price merchandise as instructed to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
  • Track Production Numbers: Track production numbers and report in the assigned location to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Move Merchandise: Move priced merchandise to the floor for display and stocking, or to the designated shipping location in the warehouse.
  • Assist Donors: Assist donors with donations, complete donation receipts, collect donor information, and track donors.
  • Power Sort Donations: Power sort donations into the correct bins to ensure efficient processing.
  • Receive ARC Center Trucks: Receive ARC Center trucks and assist to load, unload, and move product to the correct departments.
  • Maintain Clean Workspaces: Maintain clean work and storage spaces to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Follow Salvation Army Policies: Follow all Salvation Army policies regarding the sale of merchandise.
  • Meet Production Goals: Work to meet the production goals for the store each day as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or currently pursuing.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.
    • Basic computer skills, including but not limited to, the use of payroll programs and the ability to learn other programs or systems adopted by The Salvation Army ARC.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Ability to use basic math skills.
