Overhead Transmission Lineman Specialist

As an Overhead Transmission Lineman Specialist, you'll play a vital role in our team, assisting Journeyman Linemen and Foremen while learning the trade. You'll be responsible for constructing, maintaining, and inspecting transmission and distribution electrical lines, ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to our customers.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of lineman experience and a valid Class A CDL. OSHA 10 Certification is preferred. Physical demands include extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and standing. You'll work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
Responsibilities:
- Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution electrical lines.
- Provide technical skills for the operation and maintenance of reliable electrical services, completing jobs with quality and timeliness.
- Assist in connecting and disconnecting, installing and removing electrical devices, and troubleshooting electrical problems.
- Route or re-route power lines over, under, or around existing lines and structures.
- Inspect and/or remove damaged power lines.
- Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
- Provide backup for Class A Apprentice Linemen and assist in completion of duties.
- Responsible for timely submission of Apprentice Program documentation.
- Drive bucket trucks to jobsites and maintain truck stock.
- Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized electrical distribution lines, as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of lineman experience.
- Valid Class A CDL required.
- OSHA 10 Certification preferred.
Salary:
The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, and Life insurance, a 401k plan, and Employee Stock Purchase plan. MasTec is a publicly traded company (MTZ, NYSE).
