Key Responsibilities
  • Explaining Procedures to Patients
    • Clearly explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provide appropriate educational material.
  • Preparing Patients for Radiology Exams
    • Prepare patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure and ensuring their safety.
  • Following Radiation Safety Procedures
    • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patient exposure to unnecessary radiation.
  • Administering Contrast Media and Medications
    • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observing Patients During Procedures
    • Observe patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity.
  • Maintaining Equipment and Department Cleanliness
    • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report any potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas.
  • Performing Limited CT Procedures
    • May perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Associate's degree or completion of a radiology certification program.
  • Experience
    • No experience required.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Constant standing and walking.
    • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
    • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
    • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
    • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
    • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
    • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
    • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
    • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
    • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
    • Rare kneeling and sitting.
  • Professional Licenses and Certifications
    • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
    • ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • ARRT-BD Bone Density - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    Work Environment

This position is a Weekend Shift (United States of America) and requires a regular schedule with 24 scheduled weekly hours.
