Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Patient Food Service Worker. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive accurate and timely meals, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of patient diets and tray line positions to ensure accurate meal delivery
  • Service patient food, maintain cleanliness and organization of patient work station, and operate dish machine or pot washing station
  • Break down and clean up after meals, and maintain safe and sanitary conditions of tables, carts, and equipment
  • Occasional heavy lifting when handling food
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
  • High School Graduate required
  • Standing majority of day
  • Visual and auditory acuity
  • Able to adjust to hot and cold temperatures

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references
  • Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s)

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
