We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA). The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology or virology and a proven track record of conducting independent research.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in the laboratory of Dr. Grace Aldrovandi, focusing on HIV-1 infection, the microbiome, and multi-omic investigations.
- Develop and implement new research projects, including designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results.
- Collaborate with other researchers and scientists to advance our understanding of HIV-1 and its impact on human health.
- Present research findings at laboratory and divisional seminars, as well as at national and international conferences.
- Contribute to the development of research proposals and grant applications.
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Virology, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of postdoctoral research experience.
- Strong background in molecular biology, including DNA, RNA, and protein extractions, PCR, cloning, and Next-Generation Sequencing.
- Experience with automation and liquid handlers is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
