Principal Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a key member of our Space & Mission Systems team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and guidance to our engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of complex space and ground systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide systems engineering leadership and technical guidance to technical teams from development through operational delivery of space and/or ground systems.
- Interface with and support the Program Management Office and Mission Chief Systems Engineer.
- Coordinate and interface with internal and external customers, partners, and/or subcontractors.
- Support the development and execution of Concepts of Operations that support customer mission objectives and align with program technical solutions.
- Lead and support the development and execution of design trade studies.
- Evaluate technical changes, issues, and/or risks against cost, schedule, and technical constraints.
- Lead and/or support program or engineering technical reviews, FRBs, Tiger Teams, and investigations as needed.
- Utilize MBSE for development of system architectures, concept of operations, and architecture to requirements traceability.
- Mentor systems engineers assigned to the program and/or others in Mission Systems.
- Prepare and give technical presentations to customers, management, and peers.
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required, plus 12 or more years related experience.
- A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
- Extensive knowledge of missions and customers across core technologies areas.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in relevant business environments.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and analyzing mission concepts, including space, launch, and ground components.
- Demonstrated experience in all phases of hardware program execution, including early planning, design reviews, manufacture, assembly, integration, test, sell-off, and on-orbit mission operation.
- Demonstrated experience in systems engineering processes, including requirements development, concept of operations, requirement allocation, change management, verification, and validation.
- Experience with space and ground system integration.
- Experience with supplier, subcontractor, or other acquisition expertise.
