Job Summary:

The Reimbursement Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate review and resolution of insurance denials at the Orthopedic Center of Illinois. This position is responsible for investigating, following up, and resolving coding and billing errors, as well as posting EOB transactions and recognizing claim payment discrepancies regarding payer contracted rates.

Main Responsibilities:

• Recognize claim denials (insufficient payments and/or denied charges) and work towards resolution.

• Collaborate with coding specialists to resolve coding-based denials.

• Prepare and submit appeals and corrected claims within timely filing limits of each payer.

• Write off uncollectible claims within the guidelines set by OCI.

• Maintain proper documentation of transactions and patient confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required.

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a medical office required.

• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment, meeting deadlines while paying close attention to detail.

• Basic level of skill in Microsoft products such as Word and Excel.
