Job Title: Quality Control Manager

The Quality Control Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the contract's compliance with organizational, contracting client, and regulatory requirements. This position serves as the subject matter expert on all quality assurance, compliance, and accreditation issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a Quality Control Plan (QCP) and lead its annual revision.
  • Lead ISO 9001:2015 compliance audits and accreditation efforts.
  • Design and implement training programs on quality principles for managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Establish performance metrics to address quality assurance, customer satisfaction, quality rejections/reworks, and observations.
  • Oversee the Root Cause Analysis program, Gap Analysis Audits, and Quality Management System audits.
  • Manage the site-specific quality database.
  • Ensure effective communication of rules, regulations, and guidelines to all impacted areas throughout the contract.
  • Develop reports for management on the effectiveness of the contract's compliance areas.
  • Recommend process improvements based on inspection results, data, and customer requirements/recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain a system of data management for corrective action recording and reporting.
  • Document reviews through formalized reports with assessment of areas and recommendations for improvement.
  • Meet with department managers to determine compliance with organizational, contracting client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform contract-level operational reviews and audits of all functional areas as required by a published schedule.
  • Serve as the contract's liaison to the organization, contracting client, and/or other outside parties to ensure timely responses to inquiries.
  • Lead quarterly quality improvement boards.
  • Assist in the hiring process, including job fairs, interviewing candidates, and supporting the Akima hiring process.
  • Active support and participation in the Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) program.
  • Develop and execute project plans to support quality initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Ten (10) years of experience as a quality control manager on a US federal government service contract.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in the Intelligence Community or Department of Energy, supporting facilities operations and maintenance.
  • Five (5) years of experience in implementing International Organization for Standardization.
  • Five (5) years of experience in successfully implementing and annually revising a Quality Control Plan.
  • Strong personal leadership, management, and organization skills, with the ability to integrate and harmonize diversified functions to provide overall efficient and effective contract operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exemplary attention to detail.
  • Maintains sensitivity to and reports on instances of fraud, waste, and abuse.
  • Proficient in the suite of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint).
  • Ability to analyze site-specific data from the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Ability to prepare management, business, technical, and personnel reports, reviews, and documents for internal and external use.
  • Must be able to make presentations to employees at all levels and write cohesive and comprehensive documentation.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited academic institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of experience working in Environmental Safety and Health.
  • Implementation of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The QCM shall be knowledgeable in compliance and assessment principles, involved in performance of and compliance in contract operations.
  • Monitors and assesses the performance of self, others, and organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • Has the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs to ensure contract compliance.
