Job Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist will support the mission of AdventHealth by preventing, identifying, and resolving drug-related problems to ensure patient safety, improve patient satisfaction, and optimize patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical pharmacy practice and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Verify all medications for correctness and appropriateness before distribution to patient care areas.
Dispense medications for the correct patient in the correct dose, dosage form, and amount at the right time.
Review physician orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness, intervening with prescribers as needed and documenting interventions.
Perform renal dosing adjustments, IV to PO conversions, therapeutic interchanges, and other medical staff-authorized policies and procedures.

Requirements

Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school. Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
Currently licensed as a Clinical Pharmacist in the state of Florida.
Completion of PGY1 preferred. ACLS from American Heart Association required.

Preferred Qualifications

PGY2 critical care or equivalent experience.
Board certification in critical care pharmacy (BCCCP).
