Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at SSM Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and treatments, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Conduct vital sign measurements, record patient information, and maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and filing medical records.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Document patient encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, and treatment plans, as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited medical assisting program preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications may be preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other team members.
Work Environment

This role is based in a healthcare setting, with a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. You will be working closely with healthcare providers, patients, and other team members to provide exceptional patient care and support.
