SSM Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the lab.
Responsibilities- Perform as a circulator, scrub, or monitor on the Cath Lab procedure team.
- Ensure patients are correctly prepped for procedures and that necessary information is timely.
- Utilize critical judgment to analyze patient assessments and administer medications as needed.
- Perform hemostasis safely and properly with or without vascular devices.
- Enter patient orders and charges accurately and check for errors.
- Provide care for critically ill patients and function independently in stressful situations.
- Educate patients and families based on assessed needs and document education provided.
- Assist families to the cardiology area or Cath lab area as needed.
- Perform point of care testing according to policies and procedures.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensure.
- Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
- Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
- Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Occasional driving.
