Job Summary:

The Lamar Institute of Technology is seeking a qualified Academic Professor to join our team in the General Education and Developmental Studies Department. As a Psychology Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students enrolled in Psychology courses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Design and deliver engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Student Engagement and Support: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, providing individualized support and guidance to students.
  • Departmental Contributions: Participate in departmental meetings, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with industry trends.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to measure student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and community partners to promote academic excellence and student success.
Requirements:
  • Education: Master's degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven teaching experience in higher education, with a strong background in Psychology and instructional design.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Relevant certifications or specialized training in teaching and learning.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Work Hours: As required by the department.
