Job Summary

HDL Engineering Consultants, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surveyor Technician to join our surveying and mapping department. As a Surveyor Technician, you will work alongside experienced Professional Land Surveyors and Certified Federal Surveyors on diverse projects in Alaska, gaining valuable experience and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate survey instruments, including digital levels, GPS equipment, and total stations, with precision.
  • Collect and record field data, conduct field quality control, and perform limited office reductions.
  • Support the project surveyor with office tasks, such as research, data reductions, equipment organization, and scanning field notes.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and efficient completion of projects.
Requirements
  • Valid Alaska Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel within Alaska.
  • Good physical fitness, capable of working safely and efficiently in various Alaskan terrains.
Desired Qualifications
  • A willingness to learn all aspects of surveying, including control, topographic, boundary, aerial (drone), and right-of-way surveying.
Work Environment

This position involves both fieldwork and office work. When working in an office setting, you will routinely use standard office equipment. When working in the field, you may be required to stand for long periods of time at a survey instrument and walk long distances carrying survey equipment. Inclement weather may be encountered when working in the field.
