Position Overview
As a Maternity Care Registered Nurse at St. Joseph Health, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients throughout the labor and delivery process. Your focus will be on ensuring the safety and well-being of both the mother and newborn, all while providing compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments to determine if patients are in labor, experiencing ruptured membranes, or if they require further evaluation.
  • Provide support to laboring patients, including assistance with induction, pain management, and continuous fetal monitoring.
  • Assist in surgical procedures such as cesarean sections and other emergency interventions.
  • Educate patients about various medical interventions, medications, and the stages of labor.
  • Evaluate and care for newborns immediately after delivery.
  • Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, including physicians, anesthesiologists, and lactation consultants, to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
