Disability Assessment Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process. This is an opportunity for healthcare professionals to serve the veteran community while working in a clinical setting.

About the Role
  • Conduct in-person physical exams on Veterans
  • Review electronic medical records through a secure web portal
  • Electronic documentation of exam findings required by the VA

This role performs Disability Assessments on 3-5 Veterans per day. The schedule is part-time, one day a week (Tuesday). We offer training and continued support to ensure success in this position.

Key Attributes
  • Independent medical assessment experience
  • Data analysis skills to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions
  • Effective time management and task completion
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
  • Proficiency in computer use

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements
  • Current, unrestricted NP or PA (NCCPA accredited) license
  • Meet credentialing requirements set forth by the VA
