Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at Northwind Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural engineering solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement structural engineering designs and drawings, including seismic and foundation design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet business, technical, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform formal calculations and reviews of existing conditions and as-built drawings.
  • Develop design configuration packages and specifications for construction and procurement.
  • Execute projects to schedule requirements while maintaining high-quality work products.
  • Coordinate with other technical disciplines to plan and execute work as an integrated team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Structural or related) from an accredited university, with at least 9 years of relevant experience.
  • US citizenship is required per contract requirement.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively.
  • Broad knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
  • Ability to execute work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active security clearance.
  • Registered Structural Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United States.
  • Master's degree in Structural or related Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience designing seismic bracing and supports.
  • Experience executing engineering and design with Revit.
  • Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
  • Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
  • Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA1, MIL-Q9858A, or ISO9000.
  • Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact.
