Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, the Respiratory Care Professional is tasked with executing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as prescribed by the physician. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough assessments and planning appropriate care.
- Implementing and documenting care with a focus on the specific needs of diverse patient populations.
- Assuming the role of Lead Respiratory Care Professional in the absence of supervisory staff, overseeing departmental operations during shifts.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Valid State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License is mandatory.
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required upon hire.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is essential.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is preferred.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be acquired within 60 days of hire.
- An Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
