Mobile Art Instructor - Nassau County, NY

Compensation: $40-50 per hour - preparation and travel time are compensated.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in teaching studio art.
• BFA or BS in Art Education.
• Access to a reliable vehicle for transporting materials and commuting to teaching sites.
• A strong commitment to the mission of One River School.
• A genuine enthusiasm for introducing art to students of diverse ages.
• Must have completed or be willing to undergo fingerprinting and background checks prior to employment.

Role Expectations:

We are seeking part-time instructors for regular hours (1-2 days per week post 2:30 PM) to deliver a variety of engaging proprietary art classes at off-site locations. Subjects include:

• Drawing
• Painting
• Sculpture

Our curriculum is dynamic, colorful, and enjoyable, and our instructors take pride in facilitating it while witnessing their students flourish. This role is pivotal in extending our distinctive art education program to students outside of our main facilities. As an ambassador for One River, the ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and the ability to transform any environment into an inspiring art space for a diverse student body.

Work hours will primarily occur in the afternoons during after-school programs at various educational institutions. Instructors will be reimbursed for travel mileage and compensated for preparation and cleanup time. Locations will vary but will remain within Nassau County, NY. The number of hours and days worked can be flexible based on availability and demand for outside classes. Opportunities may also arise to teach at One River School locations for those seeking additional hours.
