Job Title: Produce Associate

Job Summary:

Festival Foods is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Produce Associate to join our team. As a Produce Associate, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels in the produce department, executing the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests, and ensuring that all products are fresh and of high quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides customer service to guests
  • Assists guests with finding items they are looking for on or off the sales floor
  • Takes orders and other special requests
  • Answers the telephone and assists callers using proper phone etiquette
  • Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received
  • Stocks and maintains product levels
  • Makes sure products are rotated, using the first-in-first-out method
  • Follows display standards
  • Makes sure the sales floor is clean and tidy; no messes or spills
  • Maintains Produce supplies (i.e. roll bags, twist ties, etc.)
  • Logs temperatures of products regularly
  • Fills out rotation sheets daily
  • Records shrink daily
  • Maintains the Produce Cooler
  • Rotates items within the cooler, using the first-in-first-out method
  • Keeps the cooler clean and organized at all times
  • Orders product as needed

Requirements:

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel
  • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies
  • Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
  • Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and the ability to make timely and effective decisions

Work Environment:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Full range of upper body motion
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace
  • May be exposed to extreme temperatures
