Position Overview:

The Retail Operations Leader is accountable for the comprehensive management of the store, enhancing customer satisfaction, achieving sales and profitability objectives, and supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate business strategies to broaden our customer base, boost store traffic, enhance market share, and maximize profitability.
  • Achieve sales targets by mentoring and providing constructive feedback to the sales team.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through outstanding service.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory, labor, departmental, and store sales reports.
  • Conduct audits of cycle counts and price adjustments.
  • Review and authorize compliance documentation and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the opening and closing operations of the store.
  • Manage promotional programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate store events, operational hours, and employment opportunities on the company platform.
  • Supervise the sales training program, ensuring all employees receive the necessary training biannually.
  • Ensure the merchandising of the entire store is maintained, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Collaborate with purchasing staff to identify sales trends and customer preferences.
  • Train and develop Department Managers in their daily responsibilities, including hiring, coaching, and management to identify training needs and create career pathways.
  • Maintain Department Manager schedules in the time and attendance system and support payroll functions in the absence of the Office Manager.
  • Work alongside the Facility Manager to uphold the aesthetic and functionality of the store premises and approve all displayed items.
  • Address any issues arising from staff or customers, including complaints and grievances.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success as a retail manager.
  • Strong leadership abilities and business acumen.
  • Proficient in customer management.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a retail store manager is required, ideally within the outdoor retail sector.

Supervisory Role:

This position oversees Department Managers within the store.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • This role is considered moderately active and involves sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing.

  • The employee may need to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity at 20 inches or less due to computer work.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will experience a moderate noise level (i.e., business office with computers, phones, printers, and light traffic).

Travel Requirements:

This position may involve some travel.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales performance, ensuring customer satisfaction, and facilitating staff training and development. You will work to cultivate client loyalty and enhance our brand presence. The ideal candidate will lead these initiatives with a customer-focused mindset.
