Responsibilities

Key Duties:

Under direct supervision, the Receptionist will carry out a range of administrative support tasks linked to the patient intake process and will handle routine operations within the clinic.

Additional duties in this healthcare position include:

  • Manage patient check-in upon arrival, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed for a smooth admitting process while adhering to clinic and regulatory standards.
  • Respond to incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Schedule patient appointments in accordance with office protocols.
  • Collect and verify patient and insurance details, including copays and deductibles.
  • Digitally archive patient access-related documents into the electronic medical record system.
  • Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments, ensuring all required information is accurate and complete.
  • Execute all tasks related to patient checkout, including service pricing, collecting payments, and arranging follow-up appointments.
  • Assist with the organization and retrieval of records, including filing registration documents in electronic medical records.
  • Confirm next-day appointments and inform patients about necessary documentation, including payment details.
  • Follow up with patients regarding missed appointments and send relevant communications.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity with insurance authorization and billing processes. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Proficient in computer operations. Understanding of clinic procedures and regulatory standards. A strong work ethic and a high degree of professionalism are necessary. Must be a collaborative team player capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
