Key Responsibilities
  • Support literacy assessments and develop strategies to improve student outcomes
  • Work with small groups and individual students on guided reading, strategy groups, phonics, and word-study
  • Collaborate with the Literacy Specialist and classroom teachers to determine student needs, plan lessons, and support students with differentiated literacy instruction
  • Provide substitute educator services as needed
  • Attend trainings related to the position to stay up-to-date on best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education or a related field
  • Strong verbal, written language, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible, think creatively, and work across multiple elementary schools with diverse staff and students
  • Strong behavior management strategies for students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Early literacy teaching experience in a school setting
  • Elementary Teaching Certification
  • Experience in the administration and use of various literacy assessment tools
Work Environment

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced school environment, assisting with student behavioral needs as necessary. Regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods, navigate within a large school building, and lift/move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
