Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team at PsychoGeriatric Services (PGS). As a key member of our team, you will provide essential behavioral healthcare services to seniors in long-term care facilities.

PsychoGeriatric Services is a leader in mental health with over 30 years of dedicated service to patients in nursing homes, assisted living, and other long-term care facilities. We collaborate with facility partners to deliver evidence-based mental health care services, including psychiatric assessments, medication management, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, hospital placements and treatment, educational training, and quality regulatory documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site psychiatric assessments and medication management to patients in skilled nursing, assisted living, and other long-term care facilities.
  • Consult, educate, and coordinate care with facility staff, including nursing home administrator, director of nursing, and director of social services.
  • Adhere to established regulations, policies, and procedures while exercising initiative and independent judgment.
Requirements
  • Possession of a state license as a nurse practitioner.
  • Specialty as psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) or adult-gerontology nurse practitioner (AGNP) preferred.
  • DEA license.
  • Availability to work during normal, weekday business hours.
  • Able to stand for 20 minutes.
  • Able to lift 15 pounds.
