We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic Specialist to join our team at US Foods, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and reefers, while adhering to safety regulations.

This role requires 3 years of hands-on experience in heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanics or reefer mechanics, or a combination of both. In addition to technical expertise, the successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $28-33.00 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for overtime compensation. Job Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and reefers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to company standards.
  • Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
  • Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
Requirements:
  • 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or a combination of both.
  • Demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in administering an appropriate PM program.
  • Ability to read and communicate in the English language.
  • CDL A and DOT certified, preferred.
