Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shuttle Chauffeur Driver to join our team at Odawa Casino Resort. As a Shuttle Chauffeur Driver, you will be responsible for transporting top executives, personnel, and visitors to and from destination(s) outlined in promotions. You will drive luxury vehicles, including shuttle buses, mini-buses, vans, cars, or lightweight trucks, to transport clients, trainees, company personnel, or company products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet Guests and Team Members: Greet all guests and Team Members in a friendly, open manner.
  • Conduct Yourself Professionally: Conducts oneself in a positive and professional manner, acting as a role model for all Team Members.
  • Knowledge of Promotions and Events: Maintains knowledge of all current and upcoming promotions and events at Odawa Casino Resort.
  • Transportation Services: Drives vehicle from Odawa Casino Resort to assigned Hotels, Motels, Administration buildings, fueling center or other function areas and back to Casino.
  • Passenger Assistance: Assists passengers to enter and leave vehicle; look after passengers' baggage if necessary; may assist passengers carry their baggage.
  • Destination Transportation: Drives passengers to and from pre-selected destination(s) back to casino or hotel as outlined in promotion.
  • Emergency Procedures: Knows all emergency procedures; always ensures passenger safety.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Is aware of continual updates on changes in traffic laws and CDL requirements if transporting 16 passengers or more including the driver.
  • Vehicle Operation: Operates vehicles safely and, in compliance with all motor vehicle laws and speed limits ensuring the safety of all passengers and utilization of Odawa Casino Resort standards of service.
  • Communication: Operates radios or similar devices to communicate with Casino and other company personnel.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Responsible for vehicle presentation, keeping car cleaned, polished, and in appropriate operating condition.
  • Record Keeping: Keeps records of vehicle condition, trips, fuel and passenger.
  • Adherence to Policies: Adheres to regulatory, safety, departmental and company policies.
  • Flexibility: May be required to perform duties in other positions in transportation to cover call-ins and no-shows.
  • Confidentiality: Always maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Teamwork: Work at other properties as needed.
  • Additional Duties: Performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Requirements
  • Age Requirement: Must be 21 years or older.
  • License Requirement: Must have a valid Michigan Chauffeurs License or Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement (P).
  • Driving Record: Must have an acceptable driving record and be insurable through our insurance carrier.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Must have knowledge of Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) regulations.
  • Medical Card: Must have a current, or be able to obtain, a DOT medical card and keep it up to date.
  • Language Skills: Must read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Math Skills: Must have basic math skills.
  • Local Knowledge: Must have good knowledge of the local area and roads.
  • Minor Repairs: Must be able to make minor repairs including but not limited to replacing windshield wipers, bulbs, top off oil and windshield wiper fluid, etc.
  • Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal communication.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to work well and tactfully with both internal and external guests and have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Physical Demands: Requires extended periods of sitting and other physical requirements associated with driving a shuttle bus.
  • Independence: Must be able to work independently on a team with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility: Must be flexible with shifts and days off with the ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, special events, etc., as needed.
  • Skills Assessment: You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Exposure to Noise: Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke-filled environment.
  • Gaming License: Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTBB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
