Job Title: Truss Assembler I

Arrow Building Center, Lampert Lumber and Lyman Lumber Companies, divisions of US LBM, are seeking a skilled Truss Assembler I to join their team. As a Truss Assembler I, you will be responsible for assembling truss components, stocking lumber, plates, and other work-related materials and supplies, and banding/stacking finished products.

Job Summary:

This is a third-shift position, working 9pm-7am, with a 4-10 schedule Sunday night-Thursday morning, with rotating Fridays. The ideal candidate will have prior carpentry experience and be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer. Ability to learn to operate equipment such as routers, saws, presses, and staple guns is also required.

Essential Duties:
  • Lay out truss supplies and materials on carts or floor and stock plates for component set-up.
  • Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
  • Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
  • Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
  • Read shop drawings to identify plate sizes, plate gauges, girder truss nailing and bolt patterns.
  • Read shop drawings to understand stacking order when required.
  • Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
  • Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
  • Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follows all safety procedures; maintain a safe environment.
  • Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum education required: High school education and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum experience required: Prior carpentry experience helpful.
  • Special skills required: Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer. Ability to learn to operate equipment such as routers, saws, presses, and staple guns.
Work Environment:

The work environment is dusty and noisy when operating woodworking machines and tools. Ear protection is required when exposed to noise for an extended period of time. Eye protection and hard sole leather shoes are required at all times.
