Job Overview:
Radiation therapists at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center play a vital role in the prevention, detection, and treatment of cancer. The center is internationally recognized for its leadership in cancer care and has been designated by the National Cancer Institute as the region's only comprehensive cancer center.

The position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus and a Regular Full-Time daylight schedule Monday through Friday. As a radiation therapist, you will work under the direction of a radiation oncologist to deliver radiation treatments to patients as prescribed and obtain localization images according to planned treatment delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
  • Obtain localization images according to planned treatment delivery.
  • Assist physician or nurse in the administration of contrast agents used during treatment localization.
  • Perform measurements for use during treatment calculation.
  • Collect and document data acquired during the simulation procedure.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have a completion of a formal radiation therapy technology program in a JRCERT-accredited institution. You must also hold ARRT Registration in good standing or Board Eligibility within six months of hire and maintain 24 CEU's per Biennium as required for ARRT Certification and Licensure. Additionally, you should possess CPR certification and PR skills based on AHA standards.
