Role Summary:

The Fabrication Specialist is a vital team member with a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in metal fabrication techniques. Candidates must possess relevant certifications to demonstrate their expertise in the field. The role involves adhering to safety standards and maintaining all necessary certifications. The Fabrication Specialist will report directly to the floor manager for project guidance and queries.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

  • Interpret and analyze technical drawings.
  • Set up and operate various fabrication machinery, including saws, drill presses, and metal rollers.
  • Assemble components using jigs and welding techniques.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to secure metal parts effectively.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Select appropriate welding equipment and methods based on project specifications.
  • Prepare parts for welding using grinders.
  • Ensure equipment is well-maintained and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Exhibit precision and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Conduct tests and inspections on welded surfaces to identify any flaws.
  • Proficiently read blueprints and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Complete all in-house training to enhance productivity as a team member.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Relevant certifications, including SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW, with additional positions being advantageous.
  • Forklift operation certification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • OSHA10 certification as a minimum requirement.
  • Effective communication skills with team members.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to company processes and technologies.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in metal product fabrication.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Willingness to obtain necessary credentials for the role, including OSHA and Safety certifications.
  • Dependable team player who aligns with company culture and embraces challenges.
  • Ability to pass a drug test and eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Experience in metal fabrication and willingness to work on job sites as needed.
  • A valid driver's license is a plus.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for up to 80% of the workday.
  • Willingness to work on job sites up to 25% of the time.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds of materials or equipment.
  • Ability to climb ladders as required.
  • Work primarily in a shop environment with potential exposure to temperature variations, dust, and noise.
  • Compliance with OSHA regulations regarding protective equipment.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as job demands dictate.
