Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative:
- Assist the principal investigator in developing research protocols.
- Support the protocol review process as needed.
- Aid in formulating the protocol budget.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance office on protocol-specific materials.
- Serve as the research coordinator for various clinical trial protocols.
Research:
- Facilitate patient recruitment and registration for clinical trials.
- Coordinate scheduling for laboratory tests, imaging assessments, admissions, and clinic visits.
- Monitor test results as necessary.
- Manage protocol data as required.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to complete clinical research trials.
Clinical:
- Oversee study enrollment, treatment protocols, and completion of study requirements for trial participants.
- Work collaboratively as an integral member of the healthcare team.
- Partner with Care Coordination for patient care referrals.
- Collaborate with primary nursing staff to ensure patient care needs are met.
- Provide educational resources regarding protocols to patients and families, tailoring interactions to meet age-specific needs.
- Collect and prepare specimens for analysis and monitor test results accordingly.
- Document findings appropriately and communicate observations to the protocol investigator and attending physicians.
- Offer in-service training on protocols and serve as a resource for the healthcare team.
- Ensure a safe care environment and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain clinical practices that are evidence-based and align with nursing policies and professional standards.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement projects within the clinical program and nursing division.
- Uphold the Code of Ethics for Nurses in all professional practices.
Foster an environment sensitive to the diverse needs of populations, including but not limited to culture, ethnicity, gender, and age.
- Administer medications as required.- Maintain BLS certification.
Professional Development:
- Identify areas for professional growth and set goals.
- Engage in local and national professional organizations.
- Support research initiatives within the nursing division.
- Participate in nursing and institute committees.
- Meet all annual evaluation and competency requirements within the designated timeframe.
- Collaborate in preparing professional reports, articles, and presentations for peers and the public.
Qualifications include a valid Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts or New Hampshire, with a preference for a baccalaureate degree in nursing. A minimum of one year of recent nursing experience, preferably in an ambulatory or oncology setting, is required. Professional nursing certification is preferred.
