Job Summary

As a Speech Language Pathologist - Schools, you will be responsible for organizing, developing, and implementing a school-based speech-language pathology program that meets the unique needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized speech-language therapy plans to address the communication needs of students with exceptional educational needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the communication skills of students and provide recommendations for accommodations and modifications.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support students with communication disorders.
  • Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to students in educational settings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in speech-language pathology and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from a school accredited by the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Current Department of Public Instruction license in good standing required for Wisconsin positions.
  • Current Illinois State Board of Education license in good standing required for Illinois positions.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence is required for SLPs in a mentor role and is highly recommended when filling school-based assignments.
  • 1+ year of experience in speech-language pathology preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
Working Conditions

The Speech Language Pathologist - Schools will work in a variety of educational settings, including schools and clinics. The position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and use fine dexterity. The Speech Language Pathologist - Schools must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
