Qualifications

Educational Background

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics is preferred.
  • Certification in Hadoop/Cloud System Administration or a comparable Cloud System/Service Certification is mandatory.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python.
  • Solid understanding of the Linux operating system, including user and group account management in LDAP, and configuration of DHCP, DNS, and TFTP.
  • Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting large-scale cloud computing systems, with familiarity in distributed data storage solutions like Apache Hadoop, Accumulo, or Cassandra.
  • A proven ability to collaborate within a mission-focused team, adhere to standard operating procedures, and communicate effectively.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and leverage senior resources for skill enhancement.
  • Capability to work independently on complex tasks and mentor junior technical staff.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or SALT.
  • Understanding of the Linux PXE/Network provisioning process, including familiarity with Anaconda Kickstart configurations.
  • Experience in remote system access and troubleshooting, including hardware diagnosis and repair.
  • Familiarity with corporate architecture and OpenSSL for keystore management.
  • Experience with troubleshooting various hardware platforms.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in managing and monitoring large Hadoop clusters.
  • Advanced knowledge of SSH tunneling and related protocols.
  • Basic understanding of network concepts including VLANs and switch interactions.
  • Familiarity with software load balancers for large-scale web services.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Knowledge of log aggregation and search tools.
